Waterworld 2.0

With the Kevin Costner 1995 film “Waterworld” seeming more fact than fantasy as the years wear on and polar ice decreases, one company called The Seasteading Institute is taking steps to make floating cities a reality.
French Polynesian islands such as Kiribati are at risk from rising sea levels, and have tourist-based economies. The government has supported the initial plans of the Institute, and will be moving on to economic and environmental studies as they try to pin down a specific location for the construction.
