Winter: A Walking How-To
The snow arrived a bit earlier than usual this year, and took some homeowners in my neighbourhood by surprise. The ones who didn’t shovel (tsk tsk) let the snow get packed down into slippery ice, making dog walking a dangerous undertaking.
Fortunately there is an ingenious product available called Yaktrax to give your shoes improved traction in winter conditions. They are lightweight, flexible bands with metal coils that can be stretched to slip onto shoes and boots of pretty much any size.
This fabulous invention makes winter walking safer, more enjoyable, and will keep your limbs intact!
I’m still looking for a solution for the dogs, but they’ve got twice the number of legs to keep them upright!
